Hey everyone. I have a question! Have someone read the book called 'Traction'? It's about finding a right Marketing channel for your business and optimizing it. I've not finished this book yet, but I can already say it's a must-read for everyone who's interested in marketing and growth. Anyways, there are 19 traction channels, and one of them is Affiliate program. So basically my question is: If you have a lot of leads coming from 'Word of Mouth' is that a good sign that you should implement Affiliate program? Or this is pretty common situation, and it doesn't mean that you will actually have that much success with this channel (Affiliate)? I'm asking because we're a SaaS company, and right now WoM is working a great job for us. I just think Affiliate software will give so much more motivation to our current clients to talk about us. What do you think?

I’ve launched my product and my website. I have no connections in the field and no marketing budget. This sounds dumb but I think I can figure it out. How do I find people to buy my product? Here is an example, I want to contact the zoo in my state, but besides for fighting with a phone tree I have no idea how to get to the decision makers. Any advice?

For Intrapreneurs introducing a new product, who should be responsible for customer validation to find product/market fit? Should the company’s product manager be the ones out talking to customers? should it be the sales team? or marketing team? or somebody else?

Hello everyone! I'm doing a little market research for my B2B2C SaaS business. Hope you don't mind the multiple questions. If you have a moment to help me understand the community and the strategies that are (or aren't) working for you: 1. How much of your time & energy is spent on customer retention vs customer acquisition efforts? Example: 30% / 70% 2. Is email your primary method of keeping your customers coming back, or do you use something else? 3. If you don't have any customers yet, would you use a free suite of tools to help build your customer database from scratch (and retain those customers)? Appreciate your time! Thanks!!

Hello 👋 Has anyone here tried setting up an affiliate program using Stripe? We're using Stripe for membership subscription payments, and recently have been looking into a way for adding a referral system where subscribers can be assigned a referral code to give out to potential new subscribers and receive rewards (discounted membership, cash reward) for their referrals. Looks like this is all 3rd party integrations, and most of them very costly. Didn't find anything open source on GitHub as I would have liked. Is there any known open source or free setups that can do this? Is the only option going with a 3rd party app or developing it on your own? What are some good inexpensive recommendations or more suited for smaller marketplaces?

Someone plz help. Currently using Seamless and HubSpot to import contacts and send 1-1 emails in a sequence. It's a nightmare (no automatic routing of a contact into a sequence upon import, can only add 1 contact at a time to a sequence) We are a small firm less than 10 people and don't have thousands to spend on tools every month. What's a good solution for… 1) finding contacts & email address 2) importing into a marketing outreach platform 3) BONUS if in one click I can also select which campaign or sequence to drop the contact in 4) schedule both text and html emails for a sequence Does this exist?!

Currently working through a CTA conundrum We haven’t launched yet, no sales or customers to speak of. However, we do have a website and are currently publishing blogs, building a list, and broadcasting the blogs to the list. Since we have nothing to sell yet, I’ve been putting the CTA on these blogs as “sign up to our list.” But of course, plenty of people reading the blog will be already on our list so them reading that CTA at the end of the blog will feel a little silly. Still, not quite sure what other CTA to put right now. Maybe put: “If you haven’t already, click here to sign up to our list. Otherwise click here to share this with your social network.” Any ideas guys?

Weekly question <!channel> What do you hope to achieve with the content you create for your business? Inspired by the last question from @Robbie King, I know that most of you here are creating some sort of content for your business (That could be blogs, videos, gifs, memes etc.) and I believe most of you have a goal for creating that content (For example, I write blogs to boost the SEO of my website, I write blogs to attract potential clients etc.), what goal are you trying to achieve with your content creation? 1️⃣ Boosting SEO rank of your website 2️⃣ Attracting potential clients 3️⃣ Showcase your knowledge on a certain topic 4️⃣ Educating your readers 5️⃣ Providing free value to potential and current clients 6️⃣ Just for fun 😁 7️⃣ Other (Specify in the thread)

Hey guys, I'm starting to build my "content machine," and I'm curious: 1. How much do you invest every month in content? (time/money) 2. Do you outsource it completely or keep some of the content process in-house (content planning, keyword research, backlink building...)? 3. What's your content strategy?

Here are some ways to collect pre-launch users @Buse B.: • Use your network of friends, colleagues, and family • Create a landing page that will allow people to subscribe • Get strong on social media • Be active in different industry and entrepreneurial communities like Facebook groups, Slack channels, IndieHackers, subreddits, etc • Post teasers and sneak peeks • Contact industry influencers for collaboration • Develop a content marketing strategy that will educate users & collect leads • Prepare a press kit & pitch to prominent journalists

I don't know the best way, but the way I'm about to do it is 1 - DM people who I hypothesize might be interested in my product. Get them to schedule a 15-minute call with me so I can 2 - ask them questions about their root pain, what they've tried to solve that pain, if they've paid for any solutions. I'm not going to ask them what they want, only what they've struggled with. 3 - And then I'll go from there. Either people will pay me money and I'll have some confidence that I'm on the path to establishing product-market fit, or I won't be able to get people on zoom calls for any reason, or I will be able to get them on calls but they won't have any urgent pains to speak of, in which case I'll learn, pivot and move on to a more educated hypothesis.

@Buse B. great advice above. Build your audience of potential customers by reaching out and asking for their advice first...convert them into community members...add value to them...give away free stuff and keep them updated on your product/service... Tech adoption curve says 10-20% will become early adopters/betas that you can pilot your V1 with. Convert a percentage of those into paid when you're ready launch.

Depends on a startup and the types of users. Here're some examples by types of how my team does go-to-market. 👇 1 - B2B SaaS: (i) - build a landing page with clear product description, fair advantages, price and don't forget to set conversion points there; (ii) - build an ICP dividing TA on segments; (iii) - Find communities (slack, discord, others) where groups of decision makers are; (iiii) reach out them with indirect advertising - ask how they already solve the problem/do they want to try to solve it differently?/do they want a trial? (iiiii) consider the referral program for early adopters to convert them into advocates 2 - B2C SaaS (i) - the same as above; (ii) - the same as above, but consider if you need to have both sides at the platform (demand and supply); For example, we promoted an immigration platform Visxa that helped immigrants to solve their cases and, at the same time, needed lawyers who worked with requests. (iii) - For customers (immigrants) we launched campaigns. They were based on pains and were launched in Facebook as the TA was well presented there. To attract lawyers we analyzed communities and reached them manually through LI (LI is for business and job opportunities initially, so lawyers willingly answered messages) 3 - B2C app (i) - LP (ii) - AppStore and PlayMarket optimization (iii) - Multichannel direct advertising basing on ICP (iiiI) - Partnering with companies/products that work with the same TA and provide complementary offers
