Is anyone gaining any value from this group?

Mostly, I just get spam DMs. And most of the messages are self-promotion, which I am not against, but it doesn't bring much value to me.

We are definitely one of the promoters, so my goals might be different than yours. We use the platform to promote environmental sustainability and wellness, but have yet to receive a response. So, we might be too promotional for the group.

Somewhat if looking at this specific group, but if aggregated across the dozen+ slack groups, yes. Though in the past 2 years, Discord groups has far been better in terms of value, though that’s partly due to the rise of paid groups. As it’s always the case, once a platform is “acquired” (ie. Slack by Salesforce), the innovation stops. Discord managed to fend off the first acquisition and has now enabled communities that is really thriving. In my ranking (aggregated), it’s Discord, Whatsapp (due to legacy mostly), Telegram, Slack/Insta/FB/Linkedin, custom forums/Signal.
Ah, there’s also Substack chat, but those are still a little quirky right now.

I don't have as much time to spend on the channel as I would like. But, I do gain value when I hop on and cruise through the chats. I agree, Discord is better.
