Hi everyone, question from my side, have you ever dealt with content pruning in your SEO life? if yes, how do you suggest me to do it? Thanks in advance for any suggestion
p
Absolutely, in its simplest form - find the content on the site that does not contribute to traffic (organic or otherwise) and /or conversion funnels and remove it from the site. There are a ton of other ways to do it or other reasons you might or might not prune certain posts but the most common is generally that. In my experience thats what most people do when they launch a new website design. Happy to go deeper if you have specific questions though.

Hi @Patrick Herbert thanks a lot for your reply. Here below a bit more context. I know which are the low-quality pages. I suppose those same pages are eating up my crawl budget so I want to prioritize something like 150 article I have written that are not being crawled. My specific question was more about how do you suggest me to remove those pages? If I simply delete these pages, can this be a problem for the website in google’s eyes?
p
Ohh I see, I would go ahead and 301 them. Best thing to do is 301 them to the next most relevant page. eg Blog on Tree Sap would be 301'd to a blog on Trees. Keep it sort of relevant. If that fails 301 all to main blog page. Thats the fastest solution for you.
