1) Outbound prospecting is undeniably challenging. It's easy to get banned on platforms like LinkedIn or face email deliverability issues. Sometimes email ban too.
2) The majority of these agencies tend to overpromise and underdeliver, which leaves a bitter taste in one's mouth.
3) Many of these agencies are underpriced for the services they offer.
4) Only a few agencies seem to have a defined methodology in place. Most rely on a "spray and pray" approach, depending on luck rather than a strategic process.
5) These agencies often hire individuals with inadequate skills, leading to difficulties in even managing simple tasks such as scheduling calls based on the lead's calendar or responding to common objections.
6) It's worth noting that some of these agencies are run by very young entrepreneurs, often fresh out of graduation, which can result in unprofessional behavior or even rudeness.
7) LinkedIn and the internet in general are flooded with individuals selling prospecting advice and showcasing their exceptional results. However, a significant portion of these claims tends to be exaggerated.
8) Agencies operated by solopreneurs tend to have slightly better results compared to larger teams, as the bigger the team, the more likely the process is to be broken.
In terms of geographical distribution, I hired 6 agencies from India, 1 from Pakistan, 2 from the UK, and 3 from the United States. The cost per lead varied significantly, ranging from as low as $100 to as high as $500.
