Been dancing around with the idea of trying cold-emailing for awhile now for B2B SaaS. Has anyone here actually tried that first hand? How does it work for you, are there any best practices you can share? General idea right now is just to sign up for apollo.io and go at it...

Hey @derek For me personally, Apollo is the best tool for cold emailing. Cold emailing is a process, and you need to be patient in order to get results. The most important thing is to define your target as clearly as possible, Apollo has great options for this.. And the second part is to create a suitable email sequence, I would go with MAX 3 emails, sent in 2 weeks period. Regarding the content, don't overload with heavy text, include bold text to highlight important things. If you worked with big names, mention them, or have some international awards... IDK what is your product, but you can offer something for free that will create some sort of urgency. For example: 30 days free trials, or free website audit.... until xxx P.S Warm up the email domain first, dont start with mass emailing right away (you might be blocked or flagged as spam) Also, you can include links in the email, but dont go with more than 3. Avoid attachments. P.P.S if you are targeting Europe, watch out for GDPR rules, and make sure to be compliant (always include an unsubscribe button in your emails)

i used to be a hater of this channel (because i hate to receive those cold messages), but surprisingly this appears to be a very good channel in one of my project. but it is all about understanding who you target and what you propose to that person. if about messaging, it is pretty much similar to what you do in other marketing channels: who this person is and what value you can deliver. selecting a mailing email list might be tricky. this is part of creative work and depends on your product and market. i’m trying to make it easy to explain to that person where i found them and why i’m reaching out. to make it look like this is not an automated message for 10K emails, but to refer to something we have in common (for example, I’m outreaching a list of attendees of the conference and starting with “hey, i see you were on this event too …“)

@Anna Mizina i agreeeee 100% especially for the personalization part. @derek if you can find a way how to customize and personalize for mass emailing, you might score big 😄

Meetz AI gives cold emails a personalized touch by looking at your prospects LinkedIn so you can generate hundreds of emails and send them from Meetz with ease

reply.io is overwhelming and lacks a lot of critical features today required for cold email + insanely expensive 😅

@Udit Goenka i didn’t try firstsales that you mentioned to start advocate reply 😅
i run small campaigns maybe that’s why it’s enough for me

Thanks for your thoughts everyone 🙂
Does anyone here have any guides or thoughts as to how to best craft an email sequence @Ivona how did you come up with yours? are there any best practices to keep in mind?
i
First I did my homework and did a deep reserch on "who is the right person to decide if they are buying or no and what are their main problems/challenges/what do they need" in order to set the tone of voice. Than I made a list with the services that we offer, the big names that we worked with and the awards that we acquired, how we ranked on Clutch... I was personalizing each email with the company name, persons name *of course. I was going with the problem-solution type of communication, where I mention a challenge that they might face and how we can help. At the end i was offering a fee website audit (since i was promoting a ui/ux and web dev and design studio) The second email was like a mini reminder if they checked the previous message + a link to the company's portfolio with top projects. The third email was super short, serving as a last shot for trigering communication. Text only, no links no nothing. I lnow some people who do sequences with 4 - 5 emails. Maybe that might work too, if you educate on XY topic in the first 2 emails and than slide the slaw in the 3rd. But the most important thing is: know your audiance and slide your product/service as the best solution they can possibly get. Cheers @derek , hope this helps 🙌
