Hey all, Dan here from Petal.
As our beta product approaches a 1.0 GA release, I am working on updating our website. Currently, we use Squarespace 7.0 and are planning to change to a 7.1 site because of it's more flexible layouts and updated features.
Based on what I've read, however, migrating from 7.0 to 7.1 on Squarespace requires creating a brand new site and then just re-creating content. My site has been live for a few years and I'm nervous that starting fresh can potentially demolish SEO.
Has anyone else had experience with this specific migration? Can anyone share tips on how to maintain SEO when setting up the new site? My assumed approach is to keep the URL structure the same so that backlinks aren't broken.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@Dan Schmitz I have done this for multiple companies not on squarespace but other platforms. Whenever you rebuild your website expect some effects on your SEO, but again it depends on what the current traffic is and what are you ranking for and if changes that you make interms of content on your website are in line with what you rank for.
But if you are just recreating the entire website as-is, effects would be minimal.
In my experience atleast
