Hey everyone, wanted to do a small poll. I have been considering redesigning my app icon and wanted to know which screams “pill identifier” more. See option 1 and 2 below. Number 2 is what is currently in production. Thanks!

Whilst 2 could indeed do with an update, I'd have my concerns over scaling / clarity of 1 as an icon. I'd consider a transition icon in between so users don’t completely lose their own reference cues. 👍

Number 1 is more clearly medical. So is more the point.

I can't read "Smart Pill ID" without zooming in. I like what you are using in production. It's clearly a pill and the magnifying glass is in the familiar emoji style that is instantly associated with search. Also, different platforms may add a border or rounded corners so I prefer icons without their own borders or rounding, otherwise things can get weird.

@Pedrum Golriz I prefer #1 as well. I think that it is tough trying to use words in icons. It is hard read and understand due to the size. I think its been designed in a great way that reflects what it does without needing words.

Number 1, even without the words, seems a lot more healthcare than number 2. More polished as well. As for the words, hard to read and you might not need them there. Id' consider putting them on the blister pack itself.

It's a catch-22 for me, number 1 is fits a clearer "pill identifier" logo, but number is a cleaner, more modern design. Definitely concerned that design 1 at smaller sizes would not look as good.

Thanks for all the responses! I agree that number 1 needs work to stand out at smaller scales. I also think it isn’t striking as number 2. I will try to marry the designs some how. As for the text on number 1, here is the revised icon

I think you should flip the magnifying glass so it's the same orientation as the current icon - it should be more familiar to users that way

Number 2 is too cartoonish for me to trust your site. Number 1 is definitely the best.
