Anyone have experience with TopTal and/or hiring a fraction CEO specifically? I acquired a business and I'll humbly admit that I've taken it as far as it can go. I want it to continue to grow and prosper with the right guidance while being along for the ride so I can learn, grow, mature and hopefully make new friends and connections.

Depends. I have done fractional cmo and most of the time can quickly deliver large value and gains. Having fresh eyes and a vision for a long way. Alot comes down to where your business is at and what your trying to achieve whether a ceo or a cmo/growth exec would be the thing to take you there.

You may find fractional COO are more prevalent than fractional CEOs. Alot depends on the your market, industry, and size. Before you go down the route of any fractional, have you listed out the desired outcomes and target dates? (be realistic). Everyone's skill set is different. Being very clear on the skills and personality you're looking for will help in the search. LI is good, SCORE, etc. but first you need the list.

Awesome, why not test your expectations on your advisors and mentors? A dry run to see how the conversation would go and if you're getting what you want out of it? Happy to be a test case.

I don't really have the network to do so. I grew and exited my last company essentially on my own with no guidance. I don't have a family of entrepreneurs. I've tried local groups but they're mostly filled with people vested in real estate.

Congratulations on your success! and doing it alone. That is HARD. A clean slate is an opportunity 🙂 Depending on where you are located (geographically), look for groups like VIstage, Provisors, YCombinator, and Board group events (there are also a number of LI groups focused on CEOs). It's all about the networking in and asking who else you should talk with. I'm in B2B tech mostly software.
