anyone here acquired or merged with another saas company to accelerate product growth?

I'm actually doing that right now with a few companies that cater to merchants as that's the same audience I'm trying to reach for two of my companies. The company I'm partnering with and myself are both sharing the cost of our marketing initiatives and both have cross through sales channels for cross promoting each others offers to customers.

Is that a complementary product category or two products that have little or nothing to do with each other? I think it is an interesting technique to create scale but integration comes with its own set of challenges.
