Hey, I'm Abhishek, I am exploring the idea of building an app based marketplace trading in used and refurbished electronics and devices in Nepal. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Good day.

You can model after this Paris-based unicorn: https://www.backmarket.com/ Or SG-based Series A startup: https://www.reebelo.com/
I don’t think either of them is thinking of entering the Nepal/India/Pakistan markets anytime soon

Thanks Randy, I am looking into it, but the market here I assume would be a bit different due to the demographic situations and per capita earnings, since the people who stay here earn less money, and due this would be using economic handsets mostly. They might also be using the phones for a longer period than the average usage time in the Developed Nations like the USA, European Countries, Singapore and likewise.

Got it. I think the best thing you can do now is to speak with potential customers on both sides of the marketplace. Ask them questions like their perception of buying brand new vs refurbished sets, have they purchased refurbished electronics before? What were the difficulties/challenges faced when buying refurbished, and which stage of the user experience/journey buying and using refurbished sets could’ve been done better?
Basically, figure out their pain points as soon as possible with as little resources as possible. Once the pain-point/problem statements are validated, then ask yourself if you are the right person to solve it, what's the minimum viable product you can launch quickly to solve the main problem/pain point that the customers are experiencing today. Note that a marketplace solution may not be what you need on Day 1 but you can certainly build towards that end goal as you collect more insights and feedback from your customers
