Hello everyone, I am Gordon, and I am the CRO of FTL Propulsion. We are developing a warp engine to allow a starship to travel faster than the speed of light. Obviously, we don't have a full product, and we are working on just setting up computer models, and hardware engineering. I am looking for resources on getting more funding, as well as just here to learn as much as I can.

Welcome! Could you maybe provide more info on the company/team/product? 🙂 Important key points to steer you into the right direction on this topic
g
Sure. We are a three man shop, all physicists, and computer programmers. We are developing computer models of positive sense materials that fit the Alcubierre equations of General Relativity, which admit faster than light solutions. If you have no idea what that means:. The closest star to Sol is Alpha Centauri, 4.3 light years away. This means that it takes light, the fastest thing in the universe, 4.3 years to get from one star to another. We want to build an engine that will cover the same distance in two weeks. We started with a model of the complete warp bubble, and are using evolutionary algorithms to work backwards to build the engine. We are fully remote, with the hardware in Michigan, and the three of us across the US.

Very interesting! Am keen to hear how you're going about securing a reliable source of dilithium, as I hear it's quite rare and precarious to mine.

We are using magnetic fields on a LINAC to spin stabilize the matter/ anti-matter streams, then a magnetic lens to squeeze the particle beams before impact. A counter-rotating magnetic field provides ground state interruption to the magnetic bottle surrounding the impact point, for debris particle collection and separation.

fyi I honestly don't think you'd gain much from this Slack group. Your project sounds like a hard engineering product, and not a user-facing or enterprise service, so marketing isn't really a problem for your foreseeable future.
