We've used Reddit very successfully, but are looking to expand outside of there in terms of promotion effort. Our project is a networking tool used by very technical business IT people.
We've used Medium articles and YouTube videos pretty successfully. Product listing sites have not been as useful.

10/27/2021, 1:34 PMWe have tried there, the issue seems to be the sheer volume of posts. Anything we post gets buried within 15 minutes. Though I know some projects hit a sweet spot which gets them tons of visibility.

10/27/2021, 6:30 PMfor Reddit it was just all about finding the right community. We found a few that were very relevant to what we were building, and would just post there every month or so with updates, and got some great engagement.
