has anyone ever done a value exchange ad placement (one of those ads that come up on like, duolingo - “watch for a free extra life!” kinda thing)? someone suggested I try it so I figured I’d dig a bit deeper to understand if it’s worth trying🙂

I have not, but was looking at it years ago. The problem is you are going to get a lot of crap. People just want to play the game. They aren't going to care about your ad.

I posted in another workspace and someone said they ended up getting a lot of weird “where are my gems?!” messages 😓
